Bacon Mushroom Swiss Cheese Meatloaf

Ingredients

– 1 ½ lbs ground beef
– 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
– 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
– ½ cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 5-6 strips)
– 1 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 large eggs
– ¼ cup milk
– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Equipment Needed

– Large mixing bowl
– Baking sheet or loaf pan
– Non-stick spray or parchment paper
– Knife and cutting board
– Skillet (for cooking bacon and sautéing mushrooms)
– Measuring cups and spoons

Step-by-Step Instructions

Let’s get started! First things first, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet over medium heat, I cook the bacon until it’s crispy. I then remove it from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels. In the same skillet, I sauté the chopped mushrooms with a pinch of salt until they’re tender and all moisture is gone, which takes about 5 minutes. The fragrance is amazing! Once cooled, I combine the mushrooms and bacon in a large mixing bowl with the ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
