Ingredients
– 1 pound ground beef
– 2 cups cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
– 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1 cup ricotta cheese
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Equipment Needed
– Large skillet
– 9×13 inch baking dish
– Mixing bowl
– Wooden spoon
– Spoon or spatula for serving
Step-by-Step Instructions
First, I start by preheating my oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet, I brown the ground beef over medium heat. As that lovely beef cooks, I can’t help but enjoy the savory smell that fills my kitchen! Once the beef is fully cooked, I drain any excess grease and stir in the marinara sauce along with the Italian seasoning and a pinch of salt and pepper. You can totally customize this step with your favorite spices or herbs. Once everything’s nicely combined, I let it simmer for about 5 minutes to meld those flavors together.
