BEST Hamburger Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 cup green beans, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Equipment Needed

  • Large soup pot or Dutch oven
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Step-by-Step Instructions

First things first, I start by browning the ground beef in my large soup pot over medium heat. This is one of my favorite parts because I love hearing that sizzle as the meat cooks. Once it’s nicely browned, I drain any excess fat and add in the chopped onions and minced garlic. The aroma that fills my kitchen is simply divine! I let those cook for about 2-3 minutes, until the onions become translucent and the garlic starts to smell amazing. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
