Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped apples (like Granny Smith for tartness)
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tablespoons sugar (for sprinkling)
- Optional: Vanilla ice cream for serving
Equipment Needed
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Rolling pin
- Knife and cutting board
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk (for the egg wash)
- Oven
Step-by-Step Instructions
First things first, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). While itβs heating up, I love to chop my apples. I usually use Granny Smith apples because they pack a nice tartness to balance the sweetness of the caramel. Toss the chopped apples in a mixing bowl with cinnamon and nutmeg. Then, add about half of the caramel sauce to infuse those warm, cozy flavors. Set this aside while we work on the pastry. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
