Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Crab Pasta

Ingredients

– 8 oz fettuccine or penne pasta
– 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 cup lump crab meat
– 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 cup chopped bell peppers
– 1/2 cup sliced green onions
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley for garnish

Equipment Needed

– Large pot for boiling pasta
– Skillet or sauté pan
– Colander
– Wooden spoon or spatula
– Measuring cups and spoons
– Knife and cutting board

Step-by-Step Instructions

To start, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your fettuccine or penne and cook according to package instructions until al dente. While that’s bubbling away, I like to prepare my shrimp and crab. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and butter. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until it’s fragrant. The smell is heavenly! At this point, I like to add the shrimp, season with the Cajun seasoning, and cook until the shrimp turn pink, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
