Ingredients
– 1 package of puff pastry (thawed)
– 1 cup of diced ham
– 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite)
– 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
– 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
– 1 teaspoon of dried herbs (like thyme or oregano, optional)
– Salt and pepper to taste
Equipment Needed
– Rolling pin
– Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
– Mixing bowl
– Pastry brush
– Knife or pizza cutter
Step-by-Step Instructions
To get started, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). While that’s heating up, I like to prepare my workspace by laying out my ingredients and equipment. Next, I roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. It’s always so satisfying to watch it expand under my rolling pin! Once rolled out, I cut the pastry into rectangles—about 3 inches by 5 inches—using either a knife or a pizza cutter. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
