Step-by-Step Instructions
To kick things off, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s roughly 10×14 inches. This dough is the canvas for our Stromboli masterpiece! Once rolled, spread a thin, even layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving about an inch around the edges. Then, sprinkle your mozzarella cheese evenly across the sauce. This is where you can get creative! Add in your choice of fillings including pepperoni, ham, sausage, bell peppers, and olives if you’re using them.
Now comes the fun part: rolling it up! Starting from one of the long edges, carefully roll the dough tight to form a log. Make sure to tuck in the ends as you go to keep the deliciousness inside. Once you’ve formed the log, pinch the seam and ends to seal it. Place it seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Beat the egg in a bowl and brush the egg wash over the top for a shiny finish. Sprinkle some Italian seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil on top for extra flavor. This gives a lovely golden color while baking! (See the next page below to continue steps…)
