Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef
– 4 slices of your favorite cheese (I like pepper jack for extra kick)
– 2-3 jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for less heat)
– 4 oz cream cheese, softened
– 8 slices of bread (rye or sourdough work well)
– 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Butter for grilling
Equipment Needed
– Large skillet or frying pan
– Mixing bowl
– Spatula
– Knife and cutting board
– Serving plates
Step-by-Step Instructions
First things first, I like to start by mixing my ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, diced jalapeños, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. This step really infuses the beef with flavor! Once that’s mixed well, I form it into patties. They don’t need to be overly thick; about ½ inch is perfect. Also, be sure to make an indentation in the center of each patty as they tend to puff up during cooking. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
