Mexican Chicken with Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

– 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
– 1 cup of cream cheese
– 1 cup of salsa (your choice of mild, medium, or spicy)
– 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon of onion powder
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Equipment Needed

– A large skillet
– A mixing bowl
– A spatula or wooden spoon
– A sharp knife and cutting board
– Measuring cups and spoons
– A serving dish

Step-by-Step Instructions

To get started, I like to heat a tablespoon of olive oil in my large skillet over medium heat. While that warms up, I season my chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Once the oil is hot, I place the chicken in the skillet and let it cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until it’s beautifully golden and cooked through. The smell of the seasoned chicken sizzling in the skillet is absolutely heavenly! When done, I remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside to rest for a few moments.
