Parmesan Garlic Bacon Lasagna

Ingredients

– 12 lasagna noodles
– 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
– 8 slices of bacon, chopped
– 4 cloves of garlic, minced
– 2 cups ricotta cheese
– 1 egg
– 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 3 cups marinara sauce
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Equipment Needed

– Large pot for boiling noodles
– Skillet for cooking meat and bacon
– Mixing bowl
– 9×13 inch baking dish
– Spoon for mixing
– Aluminum foil

Step-by-Step Instructions

First, let’s get the water boiling for the lasagna noodles. I like to add a pinch of salt to the water—it really helps flavor the noodles. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside. In my skillet, I brown the chopped bacon until crispy, then remove it and leave some of the rendered fat in the skillet. In the same skillet, I cook the ground meat and the minced garlic, seasoning with salt and pepper. After the meat is fully cooked, I mix the crispy bacon back in, letting those wonderful flavors blend together. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
