Ingredients
– 1 cup fresh broccoli florets, chopped
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 6 large eggs
– 1 cup milk (or cream for a richer flavor)
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
Equipment Needed
– Mixing bowl
– Whisk
– 9-inch pie dish or round baking dish
– Oven
– Non-stick cooking spray or butter for greasing
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start, I preheat my oven to 375°F (190°C) because a warm oven is essential for a perfectly baked quiche. Next, I grease my pie dish with a little non-stick spray or butter to make sure my quiche comes out easily. Then, I chop the fresh broccoli into small florets, as I like them to cook evenly and blend beautifully into the quiche. Once that’s done, I throw the broccoli into the dish along with the chopped onion, if I’m using it. I scatter the shredded cheddar cheese on top, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
