Ingredients
– 1 package (12 ounces) cheese tortellini
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
– 1 bell pepper (any color), thinly sliced
– 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
– 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Equipment Needed
– Large skillet
– Cooking spoon or spatula
– Knife and cutting board
– Measuring cups and spoons
– Pot for boiling tortellini
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start off, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the tortellini according to the package instructions. I usually like to keep it slightly al dente since it will continue to cook when mixed with all the other delicious ingredients. While the tortellini cooks, let’s move on to the skillet! In a large skillet over medium heat, I drizzle in olive oil and add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté them until they’re tender and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. At this point, your kitchen will smell heavenly! (See the next page below to continue steps…)
