Ingredients
– 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade, if you’re feeling adventurous)
– 1 cup pizza sauce
– 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1 cup cooked pepperoni slices (or your favorite toppings)
– ½ cup sliced bell peppers
– ½ cup sliced mushrooms
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– 1 egg (for egg wash)
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Equipment Needed
– 9-inch pie dish
– Rolling pin (if using homemade crust)
– Mixing bowl
– Pastry brush
– Baking sheet (to catch any drips)
Step-by-Step Instructions
First things first, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). While that’s heating up, I like to prepare my pie crusts. If you’re using store-bought, just unroll one and fit it into your pie dish. If you’re going the homemade route, roll it out until it’s about 1/8-inch thick. I find that a little flour on the surface helps prevent sticking. In a mixing bowl, stir together your pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, and Italian seasoning. This colorful mixture is already making my mouth water!
