Ingredients
– 2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1 packet taco seasoning
– 1 cup salsa (your choice of mild, medium, or hot)
– 8 ounces cream cheese
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup milk
– Tortillas for serving
– Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, sour cream
Equipment Needed
– Slow cooker
– Measuring cups and spoons
– Knife and cutting board
– Mixing bowl
– Whisk (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions
To get started, you’ll want to rinse and pat your chicken breasts dry before placing them in the slow cooker. Sprinkle that taco seasoning generously over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Then, add salsa on top of the chicken, making sure it covers everything completely. Lastly, throw in the cream cheese! It will melt and create a rich base. I find it easiest to cube the cream cheese for quicker melting once the cooking begins.
