Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef (or turkey, if you prefer)
– 1 packet taco seasoning
– 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
– 1 can corn, drained
– 1 cup salsa
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
– Optional toppings: sour cream, diced tomatoes, green onions, jalapeños
Equipment Needed
– Large skillet
– 9×13 inch baking dish
– Mixing bowl
– Spoon or spatula
– Oven mitts
Step-by-Step Instructions
To start, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet over medium heat, I cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it into crumbs as it cooks. Once the meat is nicely browned, I drain any excess grease and stir in the taco seasoning along with a splash of water, cooking for a few more minutes until it thickens. Now, the kitchen smells amazing! This step sets the stage for all that delicious flavor. (See the next page below to continue steps…)
